Was the regauging much trouble?

I see nothing wrong with them at all. They seem to run smoothly, judging from your video. I guess the proof of the pudding is in the taste.

Each car was about 15-20 minutes. The loco was about a 1/2 hour. No cutting, just a punch and hammer to tap the axle in a bit. My next one will be a Hogwarts set. Hopefully a steamer will be as easy as the diesels.

Roy, they needed to be widened about 1/8”.

No center roller. Battery powered. I suppose someone could engineer a center roller and metal wheels for power and then route that through a rectifier to get the DC power down and to the electronics.

WOW, outdoor railroading just got easier and affordable* too!  The sound isn't bad either!

* Compare the price of these F units to LGB.  The detail isn't all that bad either.  LGB is Dead; Long live LGB. 

LGB died the day the factory in Nuremberg closed it's doors for the last time.  In my case, I call a spade a spade.  Märklin may still be producing large scale trains under the LGB banner, however it's NOT LGB in my book, nor will it ever be!

That is the correct set make up. I have combined a couple of sets. Still a fun set for the price.

That is how the sets come, 3 units total, 1 engine, 1 coach, 1 observation. Steve bought 2 sets and runs both engines together.

Again, what a hoot! :-) Plastic on std gauge track - never say never! (wink)
