Hi, does any one know how to distinguish sound files ? I know some of my trains need 3v and some use 9v. How do I know what sound files will work ?

If you look at the name of the sound file on the MTH site, you'll see that the 3V files will have a 3v in the name.
A 3V file
r022psgeneral__ua_020729afin_3v.mth
A 5V file
r021ppcccar____sep020227bfin.mth
Thanks for your reply. any way to see prior to downloading ? any specific model year that has more 3V
Here's a model that is 5V, and they also have the 3V "upgrade" file available. If you click on the support tab and just hover your cursor over the download link for the download, you should see the file name in the status bar at the bottom of the browser screen.
This is what I see when I hover over the upgrade icon, that should be a 3V file and it is.
