I have an FA-2 loco that is less than three years old where one of the twin can motors seems to have gone bad. When powered, the back truck would go, but not the front. I took the motor out and there is greater resistance turning it by hand compared with the other motor. Bachmann is sold out. Are there any other sources for these motors?

I got some guy I'm not sure he is still in business, Charles Phillips (if you want his number email me)
Those motors are standard for the fa, f7, pa, e7, etc. I am surprised that Bachmann Is sold out of those motors. IMHO, get a junker off of da bay or a train show and obtain your part.
If you bought your FA new then Bachman should replace the motor according to their lifetime warranty.
I know a guy close to me who actually worked for Jerry Williams for many years. He has lots of Williams parts and repairs Williams products. E mail me if you would like his name and number.
I second the "buy a beater" suggestion. It's actually cheaper because you can sell off the stuff you don't need.

I think that Bauchmann eliminated the lifetime warranty I couldn't return a U33C for repair and I had to pay 40 when I returned it with in the 1 year warranty window.
I have motors and trucks from a BL-2 if that would work for you. Email me if you are interested.
