I'm looking for spark arrestors like the HO version made by Details West in the attached picture. Does anyone know if these exist in O? Otherwise I'll plan on scratchbuilding them from Evergreen H-beam, strip styrene and brass mesh.
Thanks,
Tim

Have you checked with P and D Hobby Shop?
Thanks...good idea. I just fired off an email to P&D with a pic. I see a couple of "stack, exhaust, EMD" in their on-line detail parts section under Precision Scale, but no spark arrestors. I also sent an email to Precision Scale a week or so ago but haven't heard back from them yet.

Even a lazy hack such as myself could scratchbuild a boatload of them in one week.
Plastruct or Evergreen Scale Models styrene and mesh from the Lipton Pyramid Tea Bags would work just fine.
Thanks everyone. This will be a good kitchen table project. I was hoping to get a few for dimensions, but should be able to figure them out with some reference pics.
It might be hard to picture, but when I was a kid, I made some spark arrestors using wheels from a Hot Wheels car. I stuck a short piece of stiff wire in where the axle would go. I then set them in the stacks of my postwar switcher. They were about the right size and looked quite good. I still have them some place.
Hey gang- I had a bunch of the bee-hive arrestors cast a few years ago but am out. Sorry I don't have any to sell. Surprised someone at Shapeways hasn't done one in O scale yet? Might be worth contacting someone on that end as they are making quite a few interesting O scale parts.
