I have a question about MTH and their special orders  which they put out almost daily..  Back in Jan i placed an order for a Winchester & Western high hood GP-9 Premier diesel.  I purchased and paid for the item from a supposed authorized dealer suggested in the special announcement.  The loco was due to be delivered in July 2023.  Around July 1 I got an automatic email suggesting the loco was on its way.  However it never arrived so I called the dealer and they said they had not received any of the locos but they should be arriving soon.  Never happened.  Checked again in early Sept and was told OCT was the expected due date.  STill hasn't happeded and the excuse now is that they cannot get the items from MTH.  I'm starting to wonder if MTH is so poorly managed and have such a major supplier problem that they are advertising products they only hope they can deliver or,in this case,  is the Authorized Dealer being less than honest as to what they have or have not received.  They keep blaming MTH.  I've tried emailing and calling MTH and they do not respond to emails or answer the phone. Doesn't sound like a well run co does it? Has anyone else had a similar problem?  I'm  frustrated as I'M out a significant hunk of change and keep getting evasive answers or none at all.

This is pretty much how it goes. Nothing ever arrives on time. It'll be here when it gets here. You're not getting screwed by a dealer, they dont have it, it probably hasnt been shipped from the factory to MTH yet.

The only issue I see is paying in full up front. I dont know why a dealer would demand that. But if waiting for the factory to make it and ship it, beyond what is widely known to be a pipe dream of a delivery date is that problematic, you're probably going to need a different hobby. None of the manufacturers are any different.

Exactly.  If it is less than a year late that's pretty good.  I think there are things from other companies that are 5 years or more late.  Does any remember the Atlas Dash 8s?  How many years late was that?  Actually I think right now Atlas is sucking up the MTH's factory time as they are getting things in regularly.
