When my son bought his farm he told me he had a good place to put up my trains . Well as it turned out it might have been in the beginning but it has not proved to be the best of choices . I find myself working harder on his land then I do on my layout and since I only have weekends when it is warmer my progress has gone as well as I had imagined mind you I am only 63 so I guess there will be many years ahead of me when I retire to complete things By that time I might even have grandchildren
This 4X8 set up is the center piece of things, the train layout is along the side I still have a bit of work to do on the center piece, I need a roof for the warehouse, and some merchandise to load.
The reason it is Speedway was that was the company my father formed in 1952 he controlled it until 1973 when things took a bad turn : I was being groomed to take over the operation but that never happened so all I have in this set up and some good memories of the time I spend working there.
