.... Our 3 rail brethren seem to go on page after page, thread after thread of anguish over York.... (snip)

Maybe since we have the Spree and Fest, they only have the York meets?  Does that extra rail affect their thinking? (joke guys, PLEASE!)  Perhaps since we're in a minority scale, we already know what's out there and York usually holds no big surprises for us?  Or is because we are a minority, most of us already have all we need?  Yeah, I know there's a difference between "need" and "want".  I've been to York a few times and granted it's fun, but I have all need or want at this point.  Or is it due to social isolation lately, we were all looking forward to getting a major hobby fix, and now we can't get it?  Interesting...

Personally, I've never attended a Spree for various reasons, but may finally be in a position to attend next year.

If and when another major S event happens, I think it would be a nice idea for us on this forum to meet face to face to finally put names and faces together.  I've met some of you folks, but being that I have CRS (Can't Remember "Stuff") Syndrome, I need constant reminding.  I do remember meeting a few guys while my club, the Southeastern Michigan S Gaugers, operated our Display Layout at an event or two.  Isn't the camaraderie a major part of our hobby?  That's why my avatar is my actual mug shot.
