Sorry, I do not have the Lionel item number. What I have is the 2 biplane operating tower, worded No. 209 Squadron. My problem is it is in like new condition and works as it should, but the drive unit is SO noisy it can be heard over the trains. It is a grinding gear sound, but I think it is the DC motor making the noise. I've thought replacing the motor, or just checking things out, but it looks impossible to get into. I have put very thin screwdrivers into the holes on the base, but I cannot get them ( if there is screws) to turn. I did not go further not wishing to damage anything. Anyone else have this problem and a solution to fix it? This unit is marked Made in China. Thanks for any help,
