Squeaky Hudson | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

Hi all,

I have a new Lionchief Plus Hudson. It has a squeak. The squeak is in the locomotive and not the tender. It's not constant more like every 5 seconds when going around an O48 circle at low speed. I've lightly oiled front and rear truck wheels and all the points where any rod and gear linkage joins or slides. I didn't touch where the trucks swivel as there is plenty of grease there. It seamed like an easy fix but I'm stumped.

Did you oil the pickup rollers? If the engine squeaks going around corners, the sideways pressure around a corner and a dry roller shaft could be the cause of the squeak.

Yes, I did oil the pickup rollers.

A second try seems to have stopped the squeak.
