This steam-era Southern Railway signal bridge is just south of Charlottesville, in an area known as Teel, on the current NS Piedmont Division. It's at the base of Arrowhead grade rising to the south of town, easy to see in this photo looking northward taken two days ago. Workers were gathering to decommission it, and as of this morning it's dark and the new signals functioning. Sad to see this old infrastructure replaced, as they have been, little by little, all through the area. Thought you might like to see.
