We're going to be on a cruise in the Eastern Carribean.  One of our stops will be at the island of St. Kitts.  I'm aware that they resurrected a portion of a 3' narrow gauge RR line that was built years ago for the sugar plantation business.  I'm wondering if any of you have taken this train, supposedly is 18 miles long and is within sight of the coast most of the time.  If so, what did you think of the ride?  Was it worth the fare cost?  We're having some trouble even determining what the fare would be.

Any thoughts on this would be most appreciated.

I've been to St Kitts a few times when I lived in Puerto Rico.  It's a lovely island but can be very expensive.  The train you are talking about is the St. Kitts Scenic Railway.  The whole excursion is about 3 hrs long and you can expect to pay around $130.00 person.  If you want to spend the money and like to take lots of pics it's probably worth it.

If you are going through a travel agency you can get a much better price.  Do it on your own it's $130.00.
