Standard Gauge 042 figure eight

You will need to use 4 O31 and a 90 degree crossing.  You might need to use some 5.5 inch peaces.

In 42 STG 8 to a circle you will need 12 curves and 4 straights to fill. plus 90 degree crossing.

Sunrise, if you are using 42" diameter standard gauge track for the figure 8 on the inside, you might consider using 57" diameter curves for the outer loop.  They are made by USA Track, very good product.  might be a tight fit on your 5' wide benchwork, but should work.

On my figure 8 I used a 14" straight to widen the 42 loop and 72 curves to elbow into the 45 degree crossing.

Maybe a 1/2 straight and 57 curves to elbow into the 45 degree crossing will fit into the space.
