Well, its been over 20 years, but we finally opened up Dads Lionel Std Gauge Blue Comet from the 1990 era, did a small amount of lube on the wheel gears, set it on the track, she lit up, started up with what seemed like high voltage(Z4000) to get ur going. She ran for about 18", then stopped moving.
She seemed to be not "sluggish", not hurky jerky, but like she wasn't getting enough power. Still lit up, e-unit was still heard. Thinking maybe it was the unit, we tinkered with that lever moving it from one side to the other. Now doesn't move at all. E-unit is heard, lights up, just doesn't move. The wheels turn just fine by hand, no binding at all.
Any suggestions?
