Hello all, I was wondering if anyone could recommend a standard gauge set for around my Christmas tree. I have zero experience with standard gauge but I think it would look the best for around the tree in the future. I know MTH produces locomotives with and without PS3 but anyone have any preferences? Thanks for the help guys!

Mth has made some standard Christmas sets you may be able to track down. Or buy a new locomotive and use old or restored cars.
I would prefer PS3 to give more run options and you can run conventional. Unless you want the simplicity of purely standard operation.

Kirk from USA Track supplied the track, nice quality product!

I would like the sounds and smoke so yes a PS3 would be my choice.
Cool, thanks guys!

Hi Bill - May I ask what you used for the roadbed material. Looks like a great start to a fantastic layout. If possible, please send a video of it running underneath your Christmas tree. Thank you and Merry Christmas.

For many years i have had a standard gauge loop under the Christmas tree. Used to be able to have double l0op with 72" curves but since then we put an addition o the house and we need the area for access to the new room. But this year I have a small, about 80" by 80" standard gauge loop but with an "0" gauge streetcar line. The std gauge loop has a restored #385 pulling three #1766 series cars wich look just fine. The 0-27 streetcar loop has an MTH PCC car from Cleveland with the voice announcements for familiear Cleveland stops. The kids are getting a big kick out of running both trains.
