Thanks for this review.
I might be looking for a few of these, any issues going over switches ?

As far as? Lighting? Seems the spacing on the trucks will handle most switches. My O 72 fastracks are fine.
Yes the lighting ... does it have a capacitor to keep the lights going if there is a power interruption ?
Marty, very cool! Thanks for doing that review. It reminded me of an acquisition I made a few years back. You're not going to believe this, but I got hold of a Romulan Cloaking Device! Yeah! How cool is that? Anyway, I reverse engineered it and figured out how to produce it as an add-on to any rail car or locomotive. Here are some photos of it in action.
First, disabled.
Then, with it turned on.
Wow!!!
If you want one, please send me e-mail. Sorry, we do not accept tribbles, quatloos, or trades (no quadrotriticale).
George
P.S. Yes, I know it's not April 1st, but I'm practicing.

Hmmm. Lol! You must have missed my review of the Cloaking device transport car.

No capacitor but the dual rollers should be sufficient for most circumstances.
Those danged Romulans!
I wish somebody would make a Klingon train set.
The Klingon War Bird is a beautiful ship!

Lol. I’m honestly hoping they offer a clear car as a cloaking transport.
Plexiglass is cheap Marty.
Get a really cheap set of screw on couplers and trucks, and go forth.
Mannyrock
Aye Mannyrock, plexiglass is a good solution, but transparent aluminum would be ideal for this application. A bit harder to come across, but it will support the weight of more dilithium (or whales and water, if the need arises).
Looking forward to getting the hopper I pre-ordered; looks like my hobby shop hasn't received and/or processed the latest Lionel shipment yet.
The lighting effects on this car is pretty cool. I got a few when they came out.

Too bad the series is over. I was hoping for a few more TOS cars. This is a pretty cool car though.
Wow......you learn something new every day......all these years, I didn't think you could transport Dilithium in an open hopper.......now, I know!

Well it's not an open hopper. Of course there is a force field over the top to contain any radiation.
