On the Notch 6 podcast, episode 63, there is a mention of design entries from the LCCA Mint Car Design Contest.

Could you please provide an update on the status of the contest?

The deadline for contest entries to be submitted was December 31st, and it is almost the end of July now, I'm surprised there haven't been any announcements yet.

Judges from Lionel judged all of the entries and chose the winning entry submitted by Stu Rankin.  The LCCA will be contacting Stu shortly

If anyone had a good shot it was Stu. He has brought to market for METCA over a dozen cars that would have otherwise not been produced. He has a talent for design and knowing what the O Gauge community would purchase.

In addition to a world class collection of uncataloged cars, he also has a pretty cool job - that's him you'll see up in the highest reaches of the Bridges in the North East.

Congratulations Stu!

Paul
