Nobody posted about this yet, so I thought I would. They are actually acquiring two steam locomotives from Michigan and Colorado, a GTW 4-6-2 and a former LS&I/Grand Canyon/Rio Grande Scenic 2-8-0. They want steam to run within 1-2 years. This will be a big boost for the railroad as they have to compete with other nearby steam operations like Reading and Northern and Strasburg. They are a first class operation with beautifully restored heavyweight steel coaches, dining car, open air car with roof, and caboose painted in PRR. They are currently using a GP-9 painted for Colebrookdale.

Both the steam engines are from Michigan. LS&I stands for Lake Superior & Ishpeming, an iron ore hauler that still is in business. They are noted for being one of the last operators of steam. About 10 of their locos still exist.
Well, the 2-8-0 is currently in Colorado at a now defunct tourist railroad. It will be shipped to Boyertown soon. By rail, perhaps? NS could drop it off in Pottstown for Colebrookdale to pick up with their diesel.

Except when someone already has posted about this.
