We spent the weekend in Port Clinton, PA. Took the foligage trip behind the 425 on Sunday. Beautiful weather and a great trip. We were in the Pulman, formerly a 14 single room sleeper now converted to 10 rooms and food service. The train had 6 DL&W coaches, our Pulman and then 3 cars for the president's party, a full dome and two open platform observations.
Jim Thorpe was a mod scene. I was amazed at the number of folks taking the 1 hour gorge ride and the two hour ride to the high trestle. A good weekend for the railroad.
We also spend some time Saturday at the Reading Historical Society Museum--some great displays and good folk to visit with.
Think its a return trip next year,
