After being dormant for 67 years EBT engine 16 is now running

That is awesome news.
Awesome! Pennsylvania's a cool railroading state.
EBT has a short video on their Facebook page.
Good! They sent a steamer out to tow back their gas electric, which died on the line, while l was on it, so l moved to the caboose cupola and rode back in that, many years ago. Hope they get it all running again.
Local news just ran this story about EBT #16.
Helen and I visited the EBT last summer. VP Jonathan Smith gave us what turned out be a personal tour of the place.
16 was waiting for the cab to be installed. We were privileged to see the first of their brand new coaches getting some final touches. The car is amazing.
EBT should be on everyone's bucket list. The road may be narrow gauge, but it's built like a main line and the engines are no toys. The shops are a wonderful slice in time. Don't put it off. Visit as soon as you can.
Been there. Got the hat (16).

What this group has done since they took over the railroad 3 years ago is amazing. With help from The Friends of the East Broad Top crews shop buildings at the site that were barely standing are being fully restored for use, the shop facilities with all original equipment are being used to rebuild the engines and rolling stock. While only about 10 miles of track have been restored efforts are already under way to reopen more of the existing right of way and rebuild lost stations in towns along the right away.
