Trains will be running on the historic Northern Central this month. Trains depart New Freedom, PA, south of York, about 5 miles west of Exit 4 (Shrewsbury) on I-83. Follow Route 651 west through Shrewsbury to New Freedom. When the street ends at a "T" intersection in New Freedom, turn left. The station, gift shop and tracks are ahead on the right. Turn right on the street just before them and follow that street to the parking lot.

For further info, go to "Steam into History" on Facebook and to www.steamintohistory.com. Click on "Buy Tickets" in the red banner. Schedules in December will come onscreen.

Ask people in the gift shop for a copy of Old 97 Saves the Day. That book is a great Christmas gift for railfans and children of all ages.
