The modernized K4s here is the "dater".  Likely early '47.  Also note the Buick T1s, already filthy dirty with road grime. A lot of M1 action here, which diminished to a great degree after the PGH Div. was clearenced for continuous J1 action in late '45.

Hit the PRR T1 auto follow-up.....it's still amazing how much a T1 at work on HSC and an early GE FDL-16 sound alike !     Not the case with 765, and that's for sure ! 

Thanks for posting the video charlie.  I think I saw something I have never seen before, a composite side covered hopper.

The Milwaukee's Adair Loop rivaled Horse Curve as America's greatest train watching amphitheater but nothing could rival Horse Shoe Curve for traffic.  It is hard to imagine how many pieces of mail, let alone everything else, traveled over the curve every day in that era.

I sure wish we could watch a video of Rich and the 765 double heading with Milwaukee 261 on the Adair loop!
