Good morning and Happy Mother's Day. Welcome to STEAMday Sunday, the place to post videos, photos and comments about steam locomotives of all kinds.

Please remember to post only photos and videos you have taken or those in which you have obtained the written permission of the owner to post, and otherwise fully comply with the Forum terms of service.

A few minutes ago, I took this video of one of my best steam locomotives, a beautifully detailed and scale LC+ Erie Camelback steamer, hauling scale boxcars and reefers, including Atlas beer reefers, and a scale Lionel Erie smoking caboose, rolling through My Little Town:

For those of you who may not know, My Little Town is the name of a moving song written by Paul Simon.

Looking forward to seeing what you folks have to share on STEAMday Sunday.

Arnold

Pennsylvania Railroad B-6sb 0-6-0 steam switcher #7136 is an MTH Railking Imperial model (30-1573-1) with PS3 delivered in 2013 at MSRP $399.95.

The B-6 was the standard PRR 0-6-0 heavy steam switcher with more than 350 built between 1902 and 1913. The MTH model represents a superheated B-6sb, of which 238 were built between 1916 and 1920. The engines weighed 180,300 pounds (not including tender), developed 36,140 pounds tractive effort, and had 56-inch driving wheels.

Photos and videos show #7136 on my 12’-by-8’ layout.

Thanks so much Arnold for getting us steamed up and rolling today!   Here are my steam loco contributions for this fine Mother's Day Sunday!  Keep those boilers fired up and the sight glass full everyone! Good day to all!

As a young lad back in 1951 sits on the hillside watching trains, he's always filled with excitement and wonder as to what kind of engine and train will come thundering  out of East Tunnel located in Patsburg.  Never a dull moment for the surprises are numerous!

Here a N&W J class jets past with the Powhatan Arrow.  In 1951 this locomotive wearing the number 611 is not even a year old yet, as the builder's plate reads June 1950.

WOW!!  Next to come barreling out of the tunnel is a B&O 4-8-4 Hudson pulling the Columbian, one of the premier passenger trains of the B&O. IMG_3076

Phew!!  What's this a drag race in slow moe!  What a show of pure power!! Two locomotives exited East Tunnel at the same time, both pulling coal drags.  Well, I guess a coal drag qualifies as a " drag race" .. lol!  IMG_1608

It was his lucky day with all that action!

OK I know I will likely annoy all you folks with great scale size and super realism, but this is about Mother's Day Steam and so I decided I would post the sort of thing a Mom might buy for her smaller child (before they came of age for electric trains).  This is a battery powered steamer from Japan which has an amazing action and noise.  Its large, about standard gauge, and of course like so many Japanese lithograph toys of the 1960's incredibly bright and colorful.

So Happy Mother's Day to every Mom out there.

@Steam Crazy - Thank you for your compliment, glad you enjoyed the picture.  To be honest, I never noticed the 2-6-4 wheel arrangement commonality with the 2025, that's a HOOT!

@OKHIKER - WOW what a great picture. You know until you get up close to one of these large steam engines it is hard to imagine how HUGE they actually were.  What a beast!

Best Wishes

Don
