Wow...too bad.  If this is a main line, at least they will rebuild it...too many here

washed away were not rebuilt.  Somebody must be sticking pins in Europe's dollies.

We get all kinds of hurrricanes, blizzards (now in progress), and tornadoes, but I

even heard of a tornado and flooding in France, where serene weather usually prevails among the grapes.  Do not usually hear about stuff like that in Europe, at least,

anything less than Mt. Etna popping its cork.

Thankfully, there was not a train involved.  I would presume that there was some concern before the seawall actually collapsed and traffic had been halted.  I presume they can stub-end the line on both sides at the next stations and bus passengers to/from/through Dawlish until the line and the seawall are repaired.  That's inconvenient, to be sure, but fortunately not catastrophic.  Let's all hope that the weather and tides permit repairs to be done safely and in the least possible time.

Unfortunately, the Dawlish webcam has been removed. I believe the owner/operator moved out of the area.

Wow...thanks, Bob. That's too bad, as I used to see a bunch of interesting trains on that webcam, as well as people walking with their dogs on the strand.
