Im having a strange issue with a Proto 2 Premiere K4. Theres a bit of a story to it.....
I bought it used over the summer to double head with my newer Proto 3 K4. I took it of the box, loaded it and tested it when it came and all worked fine. A couple of weeks ago I finally got around to building a lash up with the DCS app to run them both together. It didn't go as well as I planned. Ive run lash ups with DCS before (with the remote never the app) The Proto 3 was in front Proto 2 in the rear. The rear was pushing on the front loco resulting in throwing a traction tire, one would randomly go into clickety clack mode, smoke would go off in one.. i would try and turn it back on the other would go off, turning smoke o and off would result in marker lights going on and off.
I was a bit taken back because I think I'm pretty knowledgable about DCS operation and Ive never had so many issues all at once!
So, I removed the 2 locos from the lash up. The Proto 2 K4 kept coming up as not on track. I deleted it from my app and now the app or the remote will not find it to add back in. I did a trial with the Proto 3 K4, deleted it and added back in, that worked. The Proto 2 is receiving the watchdog signal and is starting up dark when power is applied. The app says request timed out when I try and add it, The remote says out of RF range. I also did a factory reset in conventional operation using the z4000 transformer.
Pretty weird stuff right? Anyone have a suggestion something else I should try?maybe a step I missed?
Thanks!!!
