I spent a couple of days now installing LEDs into a G scale conversion. I just can't work as fast anymore. I get close to being done and figure I should test before making the LEDs permanent.  I put a set of wires on the sliders for a quick test in conventional mode. No lights work? All the lights worked before on the engine that I borrowed the board from?? I re-checked all the wiring and even tested the LEDs with a battery rig to make sure the polarity is correct.

For kicks, I put the engine on the track with DCS. It fires right up and all the lights come on?? I go thru and check all the functions and I can't shut off the number boards??? They are stuck on?? The headlights work in the correct direction, the interior light toggles on and off. There was marker lights on the donor engine but not on this one. I tried the marker light soft key and no change. I tried the ditch light function and no change either? At least the number boards are on.

So, I can't figure out why I can't control the number boards?? I will trace the wiring again and make sure it's on the correct functions.

For the heck of it I put it back on the bench in conventional and this time all the lights are on. Well one thing is going right today. At least they work.

Update: the number boards are wired correctly to the mars lights on the eight pin board #1 and 2 (to me) and get their hot from the twelve.
