On a loop of atlas o track about 15' in total length, trains will slow down for about a 3' section. Here's the strange part , if I reverse the leads and put pwr. to the outer rails with grnd. in the center, the train will slow when it is 180 degrees from the initial area of slow operation! The track has 2 solid connection points, with both outside rails and center rail joiners. A total of 4 outside rail connections and 2 center rail connections. What gives? Any Ideas ? I have 500 ' of atlas track without similar issues!

Maybe a Dirty Spot on the rails just before or after the slow down area ?
Where did you reverse the leads?
I would disconnect all but one set of track feeders and push a lighted car around the track. Maybe you can find the weak spot.Maybe the lighted car will go dim or out.
DENNY, I reversed the leads at all the connections. The entire loop is wired the same way! Also I will try the lighted car trick, good thinking!
First, i would put hot back to the center rail. Next, I would disconnect one of the feeders and run the train around the loop to see how it reacts. Then I would reconnect that feeder and disconnect the other to see how that affects the running. If you do that, please let us know the outcome.
