While MTH had the jump on the subway sets with their rail king and premier subway sets, they did not offer the opening door features of the Lionel legacy subway sets, for my limited money and very tight space(future shelf layout) I figured BMT because most of the premier stuff and the legacy was from that line, i would love to see IRT legacy sets scale no less, but i won't hold my breath! i think scale R 46 type newer types would do well with the ding dong door sound, but the best thing i would have like to have seen are accessories, such as a slide together El sections( deck girders that slide into the trestle bents)or even station platform modules.

No subway sets in either the new Lionel or MTH Catalogs. As a matter of fact no new models of anything in either catalog. Thank goodness Sunset Brass/3rd Rail has new models to offer that have never been made in 3 rail 0 gauge. See you all at the 2rd annual METCA dinner next month. Really looking forward to being there.

Well I did call mth about the subway sets. They said the R142A set is a done deal and that's it, but they said in the future, no specific date or time they just told me in the future if they do re run the set it will mostly be a Proto 3.0 set. You can give them suggestions for subway sets and trains you would like them to do and you  might see your suggestion in the next catalog. The new R36 set is coming end of November to early December but nothin in the new catalog.

Pelham, just emailed MTH with a product suggestion to re-run R142 subway set with PS 3.0. I guess I shouldn't hold my breath. LOL!

I did buy a set on IRT Lo-V cars to run on a elevated line on my layout since there a reasonable facsimile of the old Market St cars. I also created a milk bottle water tower for the old Harbisons dairy at Berks which I was  fascinated with as a kid. If anyone ever does come out with Philly EL cars it will probably be the Almond Joys or Adtranz cars, since not many people still remember the very old Market and Frankford cars.
