Obviously these have very large mechanisms and the signal lights - but I'm just wondering if anyone has a creative solution for minimizing their presence on a layout? Lets see some pics if you have them!

Several of the ideas on the link disguised the large housings of the switch and kept the position indicator and light attached. It is not really necessary. It and the light can be removed. If your switch throw on your control panel is positioned so that you know at a glance which switch it operates then bobs your uncle.
On the other hand if it is not then the wrecks should be interesting.
Very cool - thanks for the link! I had done a cursory search but obviously wasn't using the correct terms...
Uhh... you can't take the switch machine off the O22 switch, it's an integral part of the mechanism! You could remove the light and fill the hole, but the big box is there to stay.
OTOH, Ross Tinplate switches can use an under the table switch machine and would be really hidden. The small switch machine on the lower right can be removed and you can use something like the under-table Tortoise switch motor.
Oh, and you get a much better switch in the bargain.
