Alan, thanks for posting pictures of my station. I just came up from down there, I am busy cleaning up after a project and getting ready for another project. I usually come up, take a break and check this wonderful OGR Forum. What a surprise it was to see my station. Hope you all have a great day with trains.
HAPPY SUNDAY ALL
Here's what I've been working on.
1st- a Sinclair scratch built sign
2nd - bait shop water front building
3rd - real shingle (as close to real) for the general store roof
Roger beautiful station.
Spent some time reviving the greens around the On30 portion of the layout. Dust and fading can really take away the vibrancy of colors on a layout over the years.
Gluing a little new ground cover and foliage over the old makes a world of difference and is much easier IMO than trying to vacuum and recondition the old. I didn't try to cover everything with the new - just enough to bring back some highlights.

Some models I've been working on of late. No layout to put them on, but so what.
This is a plastic Weaver Row House. It comes as a white styrene model with no texture at all. I roughed up the siding with a wire brush, then painted it to look old and neglected using craft store acrylics. These types of houses are everywhere in northern New Hampshire. They look abandoned, but almost always, a fairly new car is parked in the driveway, and smoke is coming from the chimney. A work in progress, I still need to diddle with the roof and foundation.
A small, scratch built freight station. This is based on Norm C's. Greenbrook freight station, and is made from bass wood with cardboard wanescoting. The cement platform was made from a piece of rigid insulation. The doors and windows are from Grandt Line. Weathering was kept to a minimum on this one.
Great stuff again this weekend!
Other then a few trim pieces and waiting on a few more "plumbing" pieces before painting all the piping, this kit bash is finished. What should have been the extension is now being worked on as a stand alone building.
Heres a first look at one of many projects I have underway right now. Working on a tower of the old Joliet Prison, Joliet Correctional Center. Stone by stone was excavated and the building was constructed in the mid 1800s by prisoners, including civil war prisoners.
This is to scale with the exception of the stones which are larger than they should be.
Real photo for comparison.
I've been painting the opposite wall for an expansion.
I also painted an extra B unit for my B&LE F7s.
Nice job King mouse on those F7's, they look great. Well the whole layout looks great, keep us posted.
Alex,
That Sinclair sign looks great.
