sunday scenic showcase 9-21-2014

Nice layout with some good locos running on it.  

I particularly like the big bridge.  I've always wanted to build one but don't have anywhere on my layout for one.  

And I love the loco crossing it, too.  I've always wanted an M-1, even though I know it was not a very successful locomotive design.    

 The M-1 was in many ways like the UP Coal Turbine: an attempt to burn coal in a "modern" form (steam instead of gas turbine, but still), really big, and ultimately a failure, even with all the cool engineering.  A learning experience, so to speak.  But both were awesome locomotives in their own ways.  

Another stem era car for the steamers....

Here's a heavily weathered Korber Quonset hut

Lionel CSX Wertern Maryland Heritage AC6000CW. Really beauty.

I posted this earlier in the week on another post.

I think I stayed in that hut when I was in the military LOL 

The large flat on the left side of the photo is my latest project.

Great showcase!!  David's steel mill scene reminds me so much of my younger years growing up in Portage Indiana....we were not far from the Gary Steel Works!!
