Morning Alan an boy you have reached into your “Way Back Machine” today. Your vision and quality has not changed.
Nothing from me today but I’m certain that the great scenic talent found in this Forum will be shared once again.
A good day to all 🚂
This week was detailing the inside walls of the freight car dock. For someone who has never attempted a kit like this, going slow and thinking about each step really pays off.
This is where I left off week. These walls are the inside of the freight car dock.
Then clamping and gluing.
More wood staining and cutting.
“Inside” Aluminum siding added. Slats cut and started going in.
More work on the slats.
Now, the rear inside wall.
ALERT……I am on the train to Richmond after my wife and I made an overnight visit to Philly to meet our new grand dog, Munson. Wi-Fi is too slow and I will finish this afternoon.
Stay tuned to this channel! This is one of my favorite threads each week. I have learned so much and I am eternally grateful to all of you for imparting your knowledge and experiences.

Alan, Peter very nice work this week.
I have been working in some downtown deco buildings again this week.
Very nice work guys. Always an inspiration. My first attempt making trees. My wife made a few too.

Now the rest......
Wow.....breakfast in Philly and lunch in Richmond.....the wonder of high speed rail!
First gluing 1/4" square posts in place, then the window.
Then everything follows and last the horizontal slats.
This is where I stopped.
Have a great Sunday, folks!

Alan, always great buildings. Not sure if I have seen the Rock Products before, really neat structure.
Peter, following along weekly as you assemble the building. Learning so much from your postings. Rich, Dappers looking great. Is that the original intent for that building or your creation? Stubbygda, cement plant is so nicely detailed. Museum quality structure. Andy really nice, realistic trees.
Tom
Thanks Tom. Peter, nice work on the building.

With all that interior detail, it would be an injustice to YOU to cover up all that detail AND TALLENT with either windows or a roof! FWIW, I would go for one OR the other but NOT BOTH!

Tom, thank you.
this is called the metal bank building but it comes with signage for that or a pool hall. I picked dappers a college dive bar I used to go to years ago in the Albany my area when I went to school at Siena College.
I added the signs, and I built the side stair ways, the kit comes with some photo paper of corrugates metal siding but I wanted a bit more detail so made mine a with some plastic sheets
Rich,
Thanks for the reply

Wow, you did great job changing the metal bank building to "your" dive bar . Really nice work. Side stairway looks like it always belonged there.

@stubbygda posted:finally got a little time to work on ball mill building for the cement plant. finished up the inside, built outside of building, windows are built but not in yet, roof in the works.
Just unbelievable! Looks like I am walking in the plant. Are you scratch building all the motors and equipment? 3d printing? off the shelf?
Amazing.
hey guys thanks for compliments. the motors and equipment are all scratch built mostly from pics off the internet. they are a combination of 3d printing and styrene. the small version of this motor is in the 3d repository if anyone is interested. for this version i scaled it up a bit and changed the body to have the cooling fins. i will put that body on the repository as well when i get a chance.
prrhorseshoecurve it’s funny you mention the roof, on the double rotary kiln building i have part of the roof open with scaffolding for workers to be working on it. it definitely helps see the inside. this building will probably be placed mid-layout so won’t be able to see the detail real well anyway.
One of my favorite structures on the layout. This is Frog Pond, a structure from Carolina Craftsman Kits.
Great work by all of you. Sunday evenings, I enjoy looking at what you have constructed.
Foss Farm.
This is the space I utilized to build the farm.
This is a Deerfield River Laser cut model of a brewery. I hacked it out and turned it into a barn
Building with LED Interior lights.
Cut 100 grit sandpaper for the shingles 1" long with a 1/2" cut.
Built some solar panels and shingled the Barn.
The rest are finished scenes in the overall area.
Sorry to be late tonight, but it's still Sunday Scenic Showcase.
