That's some great detail, no doubt who you're building this for will be more than satisfied! I was into HO for many years and kit-bashed often. The things I liked were not mainstream, so I had to make my own. I really enjoyed doing it then, usually late at night after work, it was quiet, you could get a bit done with a project. I want to try kit-bashing in O scale eventually. Again wonderful work your doing!
You guys(Alan, Joe) do professional/museum quality work. It is impressive!

Peter,
It looks like you got a good thing going there...trains and the sunny outdoors. Nice combo when you can combine them. BTW the grass looks great!
These small MWB kits with detail were a lot of fun.
I'm really getting into this chem plant/refinery stuff. Al, I noticed a lot of the handrails are mounted so the vertical Stanchions are off the corner and the horizontal rails are bent 90 degrees. While that's used a lot, it certainly is more difficult to do than having stanchions at the corners.
Good stuff.
Excellent!
CHESSIEMD,
The scene you created is breathtaking.

Alan,
Your comments are very much appreciated. It has taken several years to get where I am with the layout and finally all the research and reading on scenic techniques is finally paying off. I will be posting more pictures moving forward as I finish the layout. Thanks!
