Good Morning Everyone,
I will start off with something I constructed in the past since planting the garden took up all my spare time this week. Lets see what you have been working on.

Alan, amazing tank farm area. All the piping and details are spot on. Really enjoy your offerings every Sunday. I'm no where near your skill level but your projects inspire me to try projects.

Alan top notch modeling as usual. Just a question about the prototype storage tanks if I may. Does the shape of the roof have anything to do with vapor collection as the liquid volatilizes?
Coach,
This was a design used in the 1950's. It allowed a tank storing a volatile product like gasoline,to take some internal pressure so the product would not vaporize off. Today tanks have internal and external floating roofs for this purpose. When a customer tells me to build what I wish, I like to construct some of these unusual tanks.
Tom,
If you are constructing things, I would like to see them on this thread. It's not about how precise it is, it is about constructing and having fun.
Thanks Alan. I have only seen tanks with floating roofs and that design is definitely adds variety.
Getting ready to ship two new Walthers HO scale designs to a customer. One kit is the pavement and the other is the MiJack lift. The pavement kit comes in individual pieces so one can assemble them in various ways to fit their layout. The MiJack lift came in an orange color and is difficult to paint after assembly. I ended up building it in various sub assemblies, painted then finished assembly.
Nice work this week guys!
here is a structure I have been building recently. It is a kitbashing parts from a korber 304 roundhouse.
Rich, great kitbash. How did you get the big windows in the upper center section?
-Tom
Tom
all the parts came from the korber 304 kit. The large windows are from the sides. I cut the parts down to get rid of the slanted roof.
you can actually but the windows separately from korber.
More work on the Banta Modelworks Annex. These windows are a really cool multi layer design that gives a great realistic look. Also scratch built a worktable and bench for what will become a carpenters workshop.
I'm finding scratchbuilding furniture is getting easier just by experimenting, though I still spend alot of time picking up tiny wood pieces that I've dropped...
Nice Stuff… cool idea to have a person making those windows.
