First off I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!!

Here is a steel mill I created for the TMB club layout. We have a large yard with storage tracks and mainlines passing through. There is also a cut in from a hidden yard. As this was not an appropriate place for a tunnel Portal I decided to place a steel mill false front to give the illusion of trains entering and leaving the building. To add some depth to the building I created an overhang with 2 rooms, one being a machine shop and the other the employee break room. Camera battery conked out so more photos to follow later. The structure was created with a 48' x 21" piece of Masonite, the overhang out of foam-core. The Face of the building to give the corrugated look is manila folders cut into 1"x2" pieces passed through a paper crimper (Special thanks to Dave Minarik for showing me this technique). The windows from Tichy, interior details from Bar Mills and people cane from various sources. To complete this I painted it Gray, weathered it and sealed it with a coat of dullcote. Still need to add a few more details and some people to the ground area in front which will come in time. Last I have a name for the building with letters I had laser cut by Andre Garcia i need to assemble and install.

Lets see what you all have this week.

Really nice work Steve and Alan!  It's been a few weeks since I've had anything to post, but I always look forward to seeing other members' weekly contributions.

I finally finished my 5-car Weaver PS-1 40' boxcar custom painting/detailing/lettering/weathering project over the past few weeks.  Cars #4 (CNJ w/ large "Miss Liberty" herald) and #5 (D&H w/ Delaware & Hudson "billboard"/"Bridge Line" medallion combo scheme) are now finished: primed, painted, lettered (with CDS dry transfers) and weathered inside and out.

Both cars received Weaver die-cast 3-rail trucks and some extra interior weight to improve tracking, scale-sized metal stirrup steps from "Scale City Designs", and the D&H car received scale metal grab irons from Tichy.

I also decided to "3-rail scale" both cars by adding Kadees and lowering the ride height a bit.

The mill looks good Steve. I made a MOW muck load for my brother. He's an S gauger, so I scaled some things back to fit. I used old Atlas O two rail track that I use for my O gauge loads, and since it's a low profile, I guess it would be S gauge Hi Rail! The crossing gates are white pine sprayed white, and the diagonal hashes are magic marker. The green "tree" is dill sprouts from the garden. I doubt it will stay green, even though it's sprayed with urethane. The tufts of "grass/weeds are from moss clumps. American Flyer Muck Load 005American Flyer Muck Load 013American Flyer Muck Load 014

Nice! The dairy my family owned had a slightly more modern  conveyor, and I remember my dad loading snow from in front of the store and driveway with an old pay loader onto it to be dumped into a waiting truck. It was used for other purposes, but I just can't seem to remember?
