I started this building in early summer and had to wait till my transfer table arrived so that I could instert the electrical controls.....
This is a recap from July......
This is where I stopped......
This is what I was waiting for......
....and, then I restarted.....

......weathering makes the lettering pop out.....
....could they make those screws any smaller? I guess they can!
PolyScale mud on top of a dull brick red.....
Some green highlights like I remember on apartment buildings in the Bronx growing up in the 50s and 60s.....
The chimney is the key to the removable roof.
These are very delicate....
Have a great Sunday, folks.

Made some progress on the ground cover along the ROW. The plaster cloth received a coating of thinned joint compound to smooth out the woven fabric pattern. Then a coat of brown paint, and finally a base coat of WS fine mixed turf. The turf goes down right into a liberal coat of white glue to hold it in place. I'll go over it again with wet-water and diluted glue to lock it in. I'll be adding some details, rocks, weeds, and grasses next.

Peter, what did you use for the roofing gravel? It looks great, nice work!
Folks, I have sad news. We lost Joe Fauty this past week who passed away suddenly on Thursday. No more details at this time.

I'm saddened to hear that. I always read and enjoyed everything posted by Joe Fauty. He was a craftsman who shared his work and modeling with all of us on the Forum and in OGR Magazine. My condolences to Joe's family and friends.

That is surprising and terrible news. Thanks for sharing and my prayers to the family. Joe was such a talented and active modeler.
Well, I'll add my work in honor to Joe Faulty.
The house is empty today except for the dog and I, so I'm working on the railroad all the live long day. I like to jump between projects, so here are three I'm working on today.
Financial building for Atlantic Avenue with OGR flats and using polystyrene cement (Ambroid Proweld)
Workers for the A&W rootbeer stand getting their uniforms painted on...
And the mining supply company for the town of Minglewood finally being assembled. Laser cut wood and wood glue, and a repair to the front once this cures...
and I purchased two more kits this weekend to add to my stack - the Korber Flag company and Downtown Deco's Lindsays Grocery. Trying to force myself to finish some projects before I rip into those new ones.

Very sad to hear this. That's why we have to always take time to say a kind word to one another. We never know when it will be the last time we have the opportunity to.
