I’m converting my layout to Super O, and the 90 and 60 degree crossings threw me a curve. I have two spots where sidings on separate circuits cross at grade, and the crossings are wired so that the center rails are all interconnected. Thus, I’ll get a back feed from one loop to the other through the crossing.
My first thought was to remove the ground plate on the bottom and separate the connections, but this plate is staked to the crossing at multiple points, and Lionel of course made it out of battleship-grade steel which from the looks of it will destroy about 50 dremel discs if I try to cut through.
I know I can’t be the first person in 64 years to run into this problem, so does anyone have an easy solution? The only other thought I had was to insulate the crossing and wire through a DPDT switch, but that seems clunky.
Thanks in advance!
