MELGAR, after seeing and reading/re-reading your post did a little research from Model Railroader Cyclopedia-Volume 2 "Diesel locomotives and "Pennsy Power  volume III & II.  As stated mine is a MTH RK but was catalog as "Scale."  And my loc scales just under 44-feet from front pilot step to rear pilot step (just under 10-1/2-inches.

Just took these two pics.  The second one is with loc on top of Pennsy Power III opened to pages on EDD diesels.  The image right below my MTH front truck is in fact the SW1 road number 9138 same as the MTH model.

The Great Northern and Union RR models from the current run represent the two SW1 versions. The GN model (above) is the early (pre WW2) version with curved front/rear cab windows. The Union RR version (below) is the later (post WW2) version with straight-topped front/rear cab windows. Both models check out at scale length - about 10-1/2 inches (42 feet) over the footboard steps. I'm just surprised that MTH is producing two versions that seem to be correct for each railroad, including the PRR. Actually, I prefer the hood and cab windows of the early versions. That may yet cost me more money on forthcoming MTH models of the SW1...

MELGAR, thanks for these two images.  I see exactly what you were referring to.  And my PRR model represents 1938 or 39 pre WWII.  I also had no idea that MTH had model both eras.  I guess they model the PRR SW1 from the image out go Pensy Power III with same road number,

edit:  Oh the rear cab is the same on both.
