#SwitcherSaturday is back!

Lots of us out there love switchers, so lets keep #SwitcherSaturday (a.k.a. SWSAT) rolling!

Last week we had over 60 pictures! https://ogrforum.com/t...saturday-2015-jun-27

In honor of the 4th of July, today at the Murnane house we have what I believe to be one of my only "MADE IN THE U.S.A." switchers, my Lionel #6-18054 0-4-0 Steam Switcher - NYC #1665.

Enjoy your 4th of July weekend and if you get a chance, please post some pictures or video of your favorite switchers!

Best...Rich Murnane

p.s. Miss the post on Saturday? NO BIG DEAL, just keep posting pictures of your favorites until the next #SwitcherSaturday

It's SWSAT time!!

No fretting for what to post this time!

Yessiree, this ol' boy got this SWSAT stuff covered for a while now: I took a pic of each one of my switchers in the current KC Lines arsenal.

This means I'll be posting pics of one my switchers each SWSAT for a while now!  Ain't I smart?

Up for this week is a pic of another KC line that was operating in KC until the CNW acquired it in the late 1960s: The Chicago Great Western.

Here's a couple pics of my Bowser "Executive Line" (RTR detailed/DCC/Sound) CGW DS4-4-1000...

HOWEVER, just like Sirt said in his post:

"New item just received... Paint corrections are needed."

Yup, much paint correction will be needed on the above Bowser engine once I began to ready it for the layout. HERE'S what a CGW DS4-4-1000 is SUPPOSED to look like back in the early 1960s...

CGW34_St.Paul_early60s

As you can see, the model's paint and lettering will need to be faded, some of the paint needs to be eroded away allowing the undercoat to be seen... and more. Lots of fun stuff awaits for the above model!

All for now.

OH YES... and Happy 4th Of July to all of us that are Americans on this forum!

Andre

Great pics, all!

BT: A custom painted Lionel NW2!!  How cool is that!

Scott: Lovin' me some Clinchfield!  Custom painted Railking?  I had several of those RK switchers back in the early 2000's.  Ran good, looked good.  Hmmm... I think I may have a picture of one I custom painted... lemmee' go see...

Yup, here's a pic taken in the 12th St. Yard of my old 3 rail "KC Lines" small room layout. Therein you'll see the RK switcher I repainted/decaled for the MKT. Please overlook the mock-up 12th St bridge in the background and the lack of ground cover/scenery!

And here's a side view of my MKT switcher I custom painted/decaled...

Keep the switcher pics coming, guys/gals!

IMHO: The Minneapolis & St. Louis (that IS a M&StL RS-1, right??) was a rather obscure and small line that really left a mark on the modeling world. Look at all the M&StL boxcars/etc there are, as well as examples of their motive power!

Yup, nice pic of that cool M&StL RS-1.  Shame about that blue n white thing below.

(Note: The comment about the blue n' white thing was a WITTICISM and NOT an insult! We all like different stuff but that doesn't mean I don't reserve a good-natured  "Right To Razz" those that like things different than I like. It's all good.)

The weather is too nice this holiday to be inside so my pics are all outdoors today. Here are some nice pics of a nicely Restored and trailered on rollers side tank Porter in Riverside Long Island.

And also at Riverside is this Former BEDT saddle tank switcher who is the sister to Thomas the Tank Engine at Strasburg PA.

Finally and and these are not my pics but if ever there is a good 70 tonner offered in O scale I would love to have this one bring me my breakfast.

What???  That "blue n white thing"  !!!!  I LOVE that "blue n white thing"

No problem.  You're certainly entitled to your opinion.  you can't love everything posted on the Forum!!

Southern Ry heavy Switcher nudging a pair of new SRR "Wartime" Gondolas which are in turn pushing a short N&W coal hopper to exit the Service Yard. The coal hopper will eventually be atop the coal dump/bins and the empty gons will act as "reach" cars on the access ramp to push the hopper up on top thus keeping the heavy engine off the ramp. Nothing built yet except Andre's bins, scales and weigh office still resting in its box. The coal dump will be on the Village side of the layout, now occupied by a mess.

[sorry for fuzzy pictures]

There have been a couple of posts on this topic over the last few weeks about limiting the size of the switchers posted here.  I think it started when someone posted a picture of a mainline road engine (SD45?) that was switching a car from the mainline.  This got me wondering which of my "true" switchers, if there is such a thing, was the largest. I've decided it was my Weaver PRR C1 0-8-0; it is a brute.
