 It's #SwitcherSaturday time!!!!

Lots of us out there love switchers (shifters, docksiders, yard goats, critters, etc.), so lets keep #SwitcherSaturday (a.k.a. SWSAT) rolling!

If you missed last week's SWSAT you should really go take a look, it was a ton of fun!

This week at the Murnane house...
My B&O #9416 SW900 Switcher (Atlas O 6114-1) is on switching duty on itsy-bitsy-small my tabletop layout!  The O27 curves on this layout are kind of tough for this guy, so back to the box for this nice little diesel.

I hope everyone has a nice weekend and if you get a chance - please post some switcher stuff here!

All the best...Rich Murnane

p.s. Miss the post on Saturday? NO BIG DEAL, just keep posting pictures of your favorites until the next #SwitcherSaturday

Yay! SWSat is on!

Hope everyone in the northeast is enjoying the nice weather this weekend. I hope to go to the Rons Books train show up in Old Greenwich  CT this Sunday. It is one of my favorite shows because it has scenery clinics and is reachable by train.

I am posting some pics I took of Alcos  in North Creek NY I took about a month ago. The green S2 was the former Alco plant Switcher. Now it is back in its factory scheme. The engine house, turn table fuel and sand  houses are nicely compact and model able.

So appologies for such an image heavy post but  it is an interesting site. Two operating Alco switchers at one site these days is also worthy of SWSat.

On another note for a few here that may be interested I finally have a two rail engine to run on the two rail NYSME layout. It is an MTH SD70 in Providence Worcester paint. It is a bit more modern than I usually do but I really am a big PW fan. I am waiting for the scale wheels to convert it. Once I get it going I'll probably stretch the definition of Switcher to include road switching to get a few pics of it running in. This serves as my legal forewarning. Haha.

Have a great weekend guys.

Happy SWSat Everyone!

Still unpacking I see Rich! Good to stretch all of your switchers out a bit, even if they don't have far to go.

Andy- great shots- looks like a cool spot.

Keep restoring those old beauties Tom! Nice job.

Brian- I don't know how you keep finding 1:1 photos of models that you own? Amazing

Mike- Great collection of switchers

This week, with the official start of Fall,  I made a effort to clear the mains and get some trains running. I hate to take anything off the layout but I have too many trains and not enough track to run them on- shelves are going up soon.

Managed to make enough room to run  a couple of freights with my ATSF Docksider and PRR 0-4-0

And if you didn't check out this thread yet, take a look, plenty of switcher action here

BAR GP7 #63, I have to chuckle every time Bruce is working the tracks. That's a great paint scheme!

COACH JOE: Thank you very much.

Johan

Johan,

Bruce should have some Narragansett Beer Reefers to shove around. They must be careful to avoid crushing cans though (unlike a certain fishing boat captain  who really dislikes sharks).

Both Atlas and MTH have made them.
