Hello Switcher Saturday fans.  It's time once again for our weekly focus on little engines that do the big work of railroading.   From an A5 or B6 steamer to GP7 a VO-1000 or S2, even a modern Republic or Brookville unit, it's the smaller machines that truly deliver! Switcher Saturday shows appreciation for them all!

Please post a picture,  share a memory or story,  or just generally enjoy the show.   I would like to thank everyone involved with a particularly great looking Switcher Saturday from last weekend when I was unable to participate.

For this weekend I thought I would have US Army 41 take a couple turns on the Halloween layout before it comes down.   Caution this is a Lionel 41 on mth plastic roadbed-video is loud!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Switcher Saturday guide:

1. Have fun

2 Be nice

3. All Switcher locomotive or similar equipment is fair game.   (Yes that includes track mobile stuff and the occasional animals being used to move railcars!)

4. To quote Yoda, "size matters not."  Road switchers and transfer diesels work too

5. Any scale or gauge

6. Stick to ogr terms of service regarding pictures.

Looks like the main theme this SWSat is the Pennsy,  I'll add my PRR  to the mix.

K-Line MP1500 I picked up at a train show 20+ years ago for  $50. Took the bulb out of the cab socket and replaced the headlight with an LED, also rewired the motors in series to slow down the speed.

Mike, I know Richard Yoder makes 2 rail trains,  is your 44 tonner a rebuild or did he 3 rail it for you?

Hey RSJB18 great photos and one of my favorites  as well.  I have the same engine...it puffs perfect smoke rings!!

I actually haven't tried the smoke on this engine. I get dirty looks from the CEO when I do run smoke. I need to install an exhaust fan over the layout to keep everyone happy. I will try it the next time it's on the layout.

Good morning fellow switcher fans!!  Today's focus is on the steam switcher fleet of the Free State Junction Railway.   The fleet is comprised of 3 locomotives .... 0-8-0 .. A5 0-4-0 and Dockside 0-4-0.  Have a wonderful weekend everyone!  Be safe = Be well!

jhz563: I hear you "Loud & Clear"...! LOL

Item: Trains under wire pulled by electric locomotives, especially on ribbon rail, don't produce that much noise.  Sure, the excitement is there, but there still seems to be something missing including the clickety clack of steel wheels running on steel rails.

Your Lionel USATC #41 is neat.  Wish the Circle L had produced a black GP7 for the USATC too.  Their current red scheme just doesn't do anything to excite me.

Everyone, please pray for world peace.  Our children and their children's children deserve nothing less!

Godspeed

I am almost sure I shared this one before.  Hopefully you have forgotten - 17/64 O gauge, and part of an effort to duplicate my 70 year old HO collection in O Scale.  With the almost-completed Dockside and K11 Pacific, I am just about there.  This one, obviously, copies the very earliest of HO "shifters."

OK SwSat Fans, I know that I am late!  Just could not get to posting yesterday.  So, I tried today to follow the PA RR theme a little bit.  Here is my (late) contribution :

Here is the "mighty" AMT PRR "BEEP" switcher pulling the Lionel 3484 Operating Boxcar from 1953.

PA Switcheer + Box Car

Here is a little better shot from the front quarter.  Shows that "keystone" on the nose of the switcher.

Well, sorry I was late fellows...but maybe better late than never!
