Hello again fellow flanged wheel enthusiasts, and welcome to the 7th edition of Switcher Saturday - Mark II!

This is the place for your weekly dose of little engines that do big things, and a continuing tribute to the originator Mr. Murnane.  If you prefer an A5 over an Allegheny, or a Plymouth over a Centennial, you found the right place.

This threads welcome switchers of all sizes and sources, such as 12" to the foot, live steam, HONGZ and of course 3 rail O gauge. If you want to check out last week's thread you can find it here.

There is alot of talk on the forum this week about the NJ Hi Railers open house after the York meet next month, so here's a few shots I took there a couple years ago.

As usual, there's a few simple rules for Switcher Saturday:

1. If it's related to switchers (model switchers, prototypes, critters, switching yards, switching layouts) - we want to see it! Videos, Pics, Stories (true or fictional), poems, whatever!

2. If you miss the post on Saturday? NO BIG DEAL, just keep posting pictures of your favorites until the next #SwitcherSaturday

3. Keep it friendly - we want this to be fun. (we haven't had any real problems with grumpy trolls, I'd like to keep it that way)

4. In regards to compliance with the letter and spirit of the OGR tos, this post is in the photo album section as the subject is switchers and small motive power.  Three rail O is the common medium but anything from prototype through Hongz, grand scales, live steam etc is welcome, as long you took the photo yourself or have permission to post it.  Feel free to post a link to something cool.

As a bonus, here are some shot of camelback 592 from the B&O museum.  I can't remember the specifics on this loco, but it is hard to get good photos in the roundhouse, because for most angles you can't get far enough away.  I would love to take one of these down the rails!

I received my second GMC switcher in UP scheme, it was sold as running condition with a stuck motor and missing the transmission between the motor and the boggie....  so just repaired and, as price was low it is finaly fine; it runs very well and smooth.

Two rails versus three rails which one is the best.... I would say both ...

Have a nice weekend,  Daniel

The old and the even older:

The last E9 was built in 1964 and the first SW1500 was built in 1966. While the Es are long gone (except for a few heritage units and several shelf queens in museums) many of the 808 SW1500s built are still at work, among them P&OC 1545. This pic of 1545 was taken Nov 2017:

The Plywood Empire Route acquired 1545 but the owner is too thrifty (tightwad) to repaint it

CPOWELL - thanks for posting that shot of 592 from the museum.

Paul R - Those Conrail Switchers bring me back to growing up in Reading in the 80’s.

Bar GP7 - still really impressed by that custom paint job and finished layout scenes.

Daniel / French Trains - thanks for checking out my thread from across the pond!!
