For something completely different I thought was unusual enough to share as interesting. A unique switching operation.

Some rare video of skeletal operations now vanished.

The opening scene of an engine navigating through high brush by the subway portal leads to eerie scenes that reflect the ghosts of former glory of limiteds and streamliners that ran to the Indiana border.   The abandoned approach to the former ( now demolished) Illinois Terminal St Louis terminal building that then housed the printing facility of the St Louis Post Dispatch was, for a time, serviced by a lone switch engine.

My thoughts exactly. I noticed how gingerly the shove was handled up on the elevated portion as well as the engineer ( while running through the" jungle" asked how things were looking up ahead. Whats interesting about the terminal as well as the "high line" was that for a time, both interurban trains and diesel switchers shared the same route as the terminal was both a freight and passenger depot.

The high line is being turned into a elevated garden walkway like the NYC high line.
