Together they are 5" above the rails and 36" long (1:48). I printed the side graphics onto a sheet of 0.010 styrene after drawing them in powerpoint.

I've printed sign directly on plastic sheet...had not really thought about car sides!!

Dave, I stole that idea from some HO guys. the problem is the ink can't adhere to the sheet, so you have to let it dry for a few days, then hit it with Krylon clear coat to keep it from smudging.
