Taking apart the electrical connections on a Fastrack switch

Underneath the switch where the wires connect you can unscrew them from there. Just make a note of which color wire is going to each connection. I like to take a picture with my phone to reference so I don't make a mistake rewiring. 

Remove them from the switch generally. Mark the positions as to color before you remove them. G for Thru, R for Out, Y for RSC, and B for GND.

Alternatively, you could purchase 7 conductor wire and wire it to the switch say 4 ft long. Bring it to a terminal strip under the table and attach your controller wires there. That gives you the most flexibility for track power or aux power in the future without having to remove the switch to make changes.

No need to put a lot of thought into this, the colors are standard.

OK thanks guys, I guess I'll use some barrel or molex connectors and spice the cables. Do I have this correct:

Gree = straight

red = turnout

yellow = track power

black = ground

Almost. Yellow is the signal to the controller to display Green or Red as the Thru or Out is selected. +5 vdc lights the green and -5 vdc lights the red...in the controller.

Track power is selected by a jumper on the opposite side of where you connected the controller wires. Removing the jumper allows supplying a separate power to the switch so that you can switch without track power being on.
