Hi all, I am converting my layout from manul switches to remote switches. I am using Lionel 036 Fastrack remote switches. They come pre-wired with a control box. Under each switch I have a 1/2" hole drilled to pass the wires down below the layout. How do I remove the wires from the switch or controller so that I can get the wires through the hole then reattach? Do I disconnect the wires under the switch or inside the control box? Can anyone give me some step by steps on this? The switch manual doesn't go into dept here but does give the color codes of the wires.

thanks

Remove them from the switch generally. Mark the positions as to color before you remove them. G for Thru, R for Out, Y for RSC, and B for GND.

Alternatively, you could purchase 7 conductor wire and wire it to the switch say 4 ft long. Bring it to a terminal strip under the table and attach your controller wires there. That gives you the most flexibility for track power or aux power in the future without having to remove the switch to make changes.
