Last year we road a North Pole Express behind the 1225, this spring we road behind her on the Back to the Bricks excursion, and even had the great experience of riding in the caboose on the trip home!

This Sunday we are going to chase her!

Since it will be his 1st real chase, we are planning on doing it slowly.  Only going to do 2 or 3 stops at max.  I already have them planned out.   We will keep away from the roads so it is safer for him, and 1 stop he will just have to watch from the window.

This is a total surprise for him, but I am sure he will have a great time.  He loves photographing trains, just like me and I can't wait to have this experience with him.

Here is a few shots from June on the excursion we took.

Let us know how it went.  Have we got another lifetime railfan, here?  I always say:  "Ya gotta keep nurturing these kid's interests, this day and age." There are just too many other attractions that can divert their attention away from trains.  Most of them are those electronic thumb exercisers that they are constantly fiddling with.  We're raising a generation of introverts.
