I just purchased a Williams E7 AA set from a forum member who had upgraded it to TMCC and RS using a TAS board.  I am not sure what board he used but it really needs cruse on my layout.  The amount of curves and my grade on my layout make it almost impossible to run at a slow speed.

Can all the TAS boards be upgraded with TAS EOB or only certain ones?  Are ERR boards compatible with TAS boards or will I need to change the whole thing out?   Is it an easy upgrade?

If the TAS board does not have EOB then it's probably what was called a SAW board, which unfortunately cannot be upgraded to EOB.  You would need to replace the SAW board with an EOB board.  The modules plugged into the SAW board could be re-used with the EOB board however.

ERR would be better, but also involves a complete remove and replace.  The plug in modules could probably be re-used with this option too.   ERR is very good and can help you with selecting the right product.

TAS made different boards but like most 3rd party sources made motor driver boards. The EOB board also controlled chuff rate. TAS used Lionel R2LC radio boards and all of the TAS engines I have both EOB and non EOB use Lionel audio and audio power boards. It would help if you had a picture of whats in your engine. You might only need either a TAS EOB board with motor sensor or if you went with a ERR Cruise Commander you would also need a motherboard if you wanted use the two audio boards.
