I see these cars are now available for pre-order on the TCA's and Fort Pitt Division's websites.  There are 6 cars total and they come in 2 3-car sets.  I just ordered 1 of each set.  I believe you need to be a TCA member to access the ordering page for these (although I could be wrong).

Well, from the email received from MTH yesterday, the 2 Hood's Dairy reefers that the TCA commissioned have come in and are expected by March 15th.

Maybe they did add a second run.  Just checked the Fort Pitt TCA site and it looks like their 3 cars can still be ordered as well.

Just ordered the TCA Fort Pitt three car Pennsylvania brewery set to go along with the TCA set. I was originally on the fence about getting these cars but after seeing how beautiful the recent MTH reefers have turned out I will now have all six. Unique paint scheme representing my home state that can be hauled by steam or diesel locomotives.

I just love this hobby!!!

Since I live about half way between Pittsburgh and Latrobe, this set was a must.  I've been running a bunch of mostly-MTH reefers at shows lately, and I'm really looking forward to adding these to the consist.

I missed the TCA advertisement for these cars...I seem to miss more and more special runs, even miss catalog offerings as I get older and brain fog and farts occur, darn it.

BTW: Was there a PA Brewing Company?

I have the Old Reading Brewing Company Reefers by MTH...they're my favorite, Cream Ale hits the spot...or at least it used to before I got sick,

I just tried both the TCA and Ft. Pitt site's...cannot get through their arcane "human" challenge. It's likely my firewall and VPN. Oh well, if TCA's site doesn't play well with my laptop I'll give them a call next week. I am not taking down VPN to order these or anything else.

Paul, both the TCA and the TCA Ft. Pitt three car sets are still available.

Both of my sets have arrived and they are beautifully done!

The answer here is both yes and no.  These reefers are fantasy and represent PA towns with historical brewing heritage (and fit the alliteration scheme ).  Now, there actually is a Pennsylvania Brewing Company in Pittsburgh, known to locals as Penn Brewery (great beer and great food there, BTW -- I've been going there for 30 years now).  MTH even did a Penn Brewery Reefer (wish they would do a series of Premier 36' reefers for this brewery as they have some great labels that would look good on the side of a reefer).

A couple of weekends ago, I ran my set at the Monroeville Greenberg Show:

I was at the Penn Brewery in 1991  I had a blast there   Beer was good and the restaurant had a band that switched from Rock to OOmpah music  I dont think it was originally called the Penn Brewery  I seem to remember it as the Allegheny brewery  Or maybe that was a flavor Allegheny Ale

Finally got my Fort Pitt cars   And Andy I'm a little disappointed that there wasnt one NJ HiRailers reefer in the consist

The site was the former home of the Eberhardt & Ober Brewery which closed in the 1950's.  That part of Pittsburgh has only been part of Pittsburgh since 1907.  Before that it was part of Allegheny City, a separate entity from Pittsburgh.  As far as I know, it has been Penn Brewery at least since the restaurant opened.  There are some interesting pictures of the place from before the renovation on their web site.  They have just recently re-opened some of the lagering caves for patron use during the good-weather months.

I'm disappointed too, but my train budget has been strained over the last few years, so I've had to pass on a lot of nice reefers.
