coach joe posted:Brian thanks for another episode of TTT. I'm sure Patrick doesn't mind keeping the thread going.

This is a neat Picture Brian. Looks like some narrow gauge service too.

geysergazer posted:Ya, Railbox was a way to get around old ICC regulations that said once empty a car had to be returned [empty] to it's ownership railroad. By pooling ownership each car when empty was simply sent on to the nearest customer with a load, a lot more efficient with a lot less empty car-miles.

Lew, I'm not sure that was an ICC regulation. Per diem rules are the incentive to get foreign cars off a railroad. The local freight agent would accept loaded cars going over or towards the owning railroad. Assigned boxcars were an exception. Automobile manufacturers reached an agreement with the railroads that loaded cars could move in any direction. The pool of cars assigned to an assembly plant was negotiated each year. Thanks for keeping TTT going guys. It's hard to believe it's been 4 months since Patrick left his wonderfully weekly post in the care of others enamored by the goings on down at the team track. Even though it's no longer weekly Tuesdays are always better when TTT gets an update.
ATTENTION: TRUMPTRAIN...
Regarding the photo of the semi-trailer parked on the tracks...
TRUE STORY...my brother-in-law's son actually did just that on the first day on the job after completing commercial driver's license school...he was fired at once...thankfully there was not an accident...no trucking company would hire him afterwards...wonder why?...
howard...
Not as good as most photos above, but here you go.
I think I posted this in the past, but, when you get old, you also meet new friends every day....
Lionel 9700 bc; PW trucks; my paint/decals/weathering. The car was done a long time ago - before I went mostly 1:48 (and before a lot of 1:48 was around). Photo is recent-ish - custom Dodge Airflow dump truck with scratch styrene dump body is by a friend and styrene master. He still regrets selling it to me.

Happy TTT!
Found this video of the NYNJRR working the team tracks at the 65th St yard.
Patrick, I don't believe the plate girder will fit in the back of the pick-up.
Happy TTT
Some more from the archives of the RSJ&B. Gotta take some new shots one day.
Happy Tuesday (only three more days to the weekend!)
