I recently bought these inexpensive secondhand buildings which both show "Lionel Mt Clemens" underneath. I'm interested to know the history about the production of these items: when they were first made, did Lionel get the tooling from somewhere else, etc. Thanks for any info ...

I already had an identical switch tower, except it's molded in different colors - red roof, yellow walls.

In 1975(for sure, may have been a couple of years on each side of) Lionel had a production line(s) inside the Kenner Toys(old Trailmobile)  building(s) in Norwood, Ohio.  Some models may have been produced there. Lionel, Kenner, and Sit-n-Spin were under the Fun Dimensions umbrella.       John
