I recently picked up a 2785 Lionel Engine house at a flea market. The box is there, barely. All parts are included. I want to assemble it but I don't want it to be fixed permanently. I have read other posts about Elmer's and Alene's tacky glue. That may work but both of these have a long dry time. Does anybody know of an adhesive with "Yellow sticky or Post-it note" type glue? What about using clear silicone caulk?

you can use a small amount of walthers goo. then goo gone to remove it.
I have some Plasticville items on layout that because of their value, don't want to glue, so I use masking tape (painters)on inside corners, or rubber cement. Rubber cement will hold securely, yet can be rubbed away when no longer needed.
Thanks for the ideas. I was looking for something like that "snot" stuff they use to attach plastic cards to junk mail promotions. That would be perfect. I'll have to do further research with the mass mailing houses suppliers.

Coolness, thanks, that looks like it will fit the bill.
I've been using that stuff for several years now, it drys clear & can be easily removed. I put it on the feet of O scale people so I can move them if I want & some trees also.
